Gujarat UWIN Card 2022
For the workers who belong to the informal sector, the government of Gujarat has launched a UWIN Card. Through this card, beneficiaries can take the benefit of social security schemes or programmes which are managed by EPFO and ESIC. It is basically a unique number that is proposed to be issued as proof of identity to the informal workers. Other than that, the government can also make a database of all the informal sector workers. Beneficiaries can register in order to get this card on the eNirman portal or app.
Around 47 crore workers are expected to register. The full form of the UWIN card is an unorganised workers index number card. This card has been designed and developed in 2014 by the Ministry of labour and Employment Under the unorganised worker’s social security act 2008. All the workers who belong to the informal sector have to mandatorily register themselves in the UWIN programme. The government of Gujarat has allocated an amount of 402 crores in order to implement this project in two phases.
SECC Data For UWIN Card
In the SECC 2011 database individual and family information which ranges from demographic details, income, employment, property files along with family links are captured. The database of UWIN will use the field from the SECC database along with the additional information which is provided by the unregulated agents during the registration and validation phase. Objective Of UWIN Card
The main objective of the UWIN Card is to create a unified database of informal workers in order to provide them with social security services. With the implementation of the UWIN program identification of unorganised workers can be done. This card will also include family details through the concept of the nuclear family and the linked family which will help the government in order to launch various family-based benefits schemes. This platform will also assist in identifying and enabling the skills, development requirements, employer and worker mapping and result based policy formulation and decision making. With the implementation of this programme approximately 15 crore families will be benefited

Eligibility Criteria Of UWIN Card
- Applicant must be permanent resident of Gujarat
- The age of applicant should be between 18 to 60 years
- Applicant must belong to unorganised sector
- eligible worker must have worked as building and other construction worker for not less than 90 days in the last 12 months
